WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CREAM AND A GEL?

Creams and gels are different types of topical formulations, and each creates a different experience on the skin. Creams typically have a richer consistency and are designed to spread smoothly across the skin. Rygg HEATE™ uses a cream formulation suited to application across larger muscle groups before activity. Gels typically have a lighter consistency and can provide a different sensory experience on application. Rygg KHULE™ uses a gel formulation alongside menthol to deliver its distinctive cooling feel after activity. Both Rygg formulations are designed to be fast absorbing, quick drying and non-greasy.

QUALITY BEYOND THE FORMULA

Quality isn't only about the active ingredients. It extends to how a formulation is manufactured, tested, packaged and maintained throughout its intended shelf life. Rygg HEATE™ and Rygg KHULE™ undergo independent stability testing. The current Australian formulations have a three-year shelf life.

HOW DOES THE SKIN ABSORB TOPICAL PRODUCTS?

The skin is designed to act as a protective barrier, but some substances applied topically can move into or through its outer layers. This process is known as transdermal absorption and can be influenced by factors including the ingredient, its concentration, the formulation and the condition of the skin. Formulation also influences how a topical product spreads, absorbs and feels during use. What does "Informed Sport" actually mean?

Rygg products are batch tested with Informed Sport - a program designed for athletes by testing finished product batches for a broad panel of banned substances. Currently, Rygg HEATE and Rygg KHULE are the only topical analgesics in the world to have an “every-batch-testing’ level of certification.

Informed Sport is recognised worldwide by a growing number of National Anti Doping Organisations (NADOs), including UK Anti-Doping (UKAD), the Institute of National Anti-Doping Organisations (iNADO) and sporting bodies, such as the English Institute of Sport (EIS), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). Several nutrition industry organisations also recognise Informed Sport, including the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance (ESSNA). Use the batch code on your product and verify it in the Informed Sport database before competition. Keep a record of the batch you used.

Athletes can be exposed to contamination risk from manufacturing variability. Batch testing adds an extra layer of protection by checking the exact batch you are using, not just a one-off sample.

Stability testing assesses how a formulation performs over time under defined conditions and helps establish its intended shelf life. RYGG HEATE and RYGG KHULE have undergone independent stability testing.

An AUST L number identifies a listed medicine included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. You can find the AUST L number on the product label.
